Diverse menu and flavorful food. Edamame came complimentary. Panang curry was the daily special. It came on a plate; thus, not much sauce/broth as expected. Their version was tasty though. The lunch portion was sufficient. Brown rice offered. A decent lunch crowd was a good sign. Proved worthwhile.

While Zheng's doesn't have the BEST sushi in Glenwood Springs, it is my favorite spot for pan-asian cuisine. Their Super Happy Fun Time (happy hour) goes from 4pm - 6pm EVERYDAY and it really is the time to go here. You can pair food and beverages ranging from $3.50 each to $5.50 each, and get pretty full and a bit buzzed on the cheap. My favorite cocktail here is the Lychee Joy, it's light and refreshing. The ginger martini is also very good. Didn't really like the Saki-Tini much, it tasted a bit like medicine in my opinion... but their straight saki is very good. Their sushi is pretty decent. The salmon is better than the tuna here. Try the philly roll and the chicken lettuce wraps, those are my favorites.

Needed a place to eat on our way through Glenwood. PHENOMENAL food! We had limited time so our waiter was prompt and accommodating. Our kids loved the edamame and teriyaki noodles. We had the seared Ahi appetizer and some sushi. We couldn't believe how great the sushi was. We will definitely be back!

The short version of this review is "Stay Away!" My wife and I went in for lunch. We were generally ignored for at least 10 minutes until finally the bartender came over to tell us that we would have to wait while they cleared a table despite the fact that we were standing next to two empty tables! After another ten minutes wait we were finally seated and then ignored for another twenty minutes. After we ordered, however, our food was brought right out (not a good sign). I had the General's chicken and my wife had the sushi. The chicken tasted like liver which indicates to me that it was pre-cooked and re-heated. It was salty and overcooked. My wife thought the sushi was okay but way over-priced. Our lunch took nearly ninety minutes and was disappointing from beginning to end. Poor service, lousy food and high prices. What else could you ask for? Stay away!

Had a long overnight and chose Zheng as it was close to our hotel. Also, full disclosure, the English Pub across the lot was closed. Service was very friendly and the atmosphere laid back. Food was good, but in all honesty, nothing too far above average. That being said, the prices were more than fair. I would likely go back.

Meh. Placed an order for sashimi and came here 30 minutes later and still had to wait. The lady was at least nice though. The decor looked modern and they have huge tvs in the bar area if you wanted to eat there and watch a football game. The sushi was alright. Got 4 pieces of octopus in my sashimi combo..maybe they were trying to get rid of it?They layered it with lemon slices which always raises a red flag to me...fresh fish should never be paired next to lemon slices...which can often be used to mask not so fresh fish. The eel was soft, big, and tasty though. It's close by my work so I'd probably just order sushi or sashimi pieces instead of the combos...and i'll call 45 minutes ahead of time next time.

I sat at the bar and ordered the Thai Shrimp Ceviche and the General Chicken as it was two of many items the bartender/waitor recommended to me. After I waited long enough for my free endamame to be completely devoured and then some my Thai Shrimp Ceviche appetizer finally arrived. It was 4 pieces of flat wonton with the ceviche mix placed on top. It was pretty good I suppose but it was maybe a little toooo acidic...I think it may have been too much vinegar? My tounge felt a bit raw once I finished all four. Their menu stated that if there was an award for General 'Tso' Chicken that they would have it. BOLD statement. So when it came out I thought the presentation was....GOOD! However it lacked in the texture department. The chicken just felt like it was on the dry side and to be honest I have had better probably from some little hole in the wall chinese fast food place in california with more flavors bursting in my mouth. It wasn't very spicy either but I guess that could be all preference?

We stopped in a Zheng Asian Bistro for dinner while staying at the Residence Inn at Glenwood Springs because it was a short walk from our hotel. I am so glad we did! The food was amazing and the staff was wonderful! The sushi was delicious and tasted fresh. We had the Zheng Pad Thai and Volcano Shrimp. THE BEST shrimp and Pad Thai we have ever had! The bar was also excellent, I had a Kimono and it was very tasty and strong! Pricing was reasonable and we had a very enjoyable evening.

Out of the handful of Asian places in Glenwood this one is the best. Like most Asian joints that try the whole continent from Thai, to Chinese, to Japanese they can't do all of them perfectly. The sushi is good as well as the Chinese dishes. The Thai is not what you are probably looking for if you're a serious Thai eater. We like the atmosphere and the waitstaff have always done us well.

Great Asian food. Third time here. We had a large party on a Friday night. The table was ready when we arrived. The restaurant is perfectly clean and tidy. The server was prompt, polite, and in fact friendly. Since we have been coming here, we have never had even a questionable meal. All meals, appetizers and desserts were simply...amazingly delicious. Many of the dishes are not on any other menus..any where. They are original creations and awesome. If you are thinking of going here...do not think another minute. Go, the food is great and reasonably priced. They also paid attention to the kids.

After swimming in the hot springs for a few hours we were famished. We wandered around the city for some tasty grub. This is where we landed. I loved the door that had a sign that read Happy Fun Times. The good: Edamame dropped off with our ice water. What an nice surprise. I got the Sezchuan green beans and I added Tofu and it was a pleasure to eat. I absolutely loved it. Merle got a beer that made him happy. It was called Hazed and Infused. The less good: Although we were seated quickly and the hostess wiped down our booth seats the table wasn't clean. Also our table wasn't set like every other table. That alone isn't a big deal except why sit us at the one table which isn't adequately set and didn't included napkins or chopsticks. We had to ask for chopsticks and steal napkins from the table next to us. Our waitress for what ever reason seemed shy or super soft spoken. Something we thought was a bit odd. She however took care of us decently however it felt awkward. If I was in Glenwood again I would come back and give it another go. The food was worth the shenanigans.

It's not bad. The food is pretty good, although I'm not the biggest fan of Asain food, it really wasn't bad. Usally there's not a wait, and everything is nice and quick. The portions are pretty big, and usally need a box to go home with. The atmosphere is very nice, and feels classy, and modern. Everyone was very friendly, and the edamame are always very good. The desert here is by far the best part, it's always delicious, and a must have when coming here. I would reccomend it.

One of the better restaurants in Glenwood Springs! I would go back. When you walk in there is a welcoming décor and the wait staff are very friendly. I sat at the bar (during happy hour, which packs the place) and I ordered a ginger martini which was great! They have many unique drinks and the few that I tried were all very good. I had the chicken pot stickers for an appetizer which were a little different and very good. I then ordered a few sushi rolls. For Glenwood Springs the sushi and the rolls are okay, nothing exceptional but still okay. I would recommend trying the blackened ahi rolls, very different and full of flavor.

Came here based on Yelp reviews, which were pretty accurate. I ordered the chow fun noodles with tofu; a generous portion but it lacked punch and zing considering it was labeled "spicy", and it was a bit odd to have to pay extra for the tofu (or whichever protein you pick). The server kindly boxed up the leftovers and included extra chopsticks, soy sauce and fortune cookies with the food. Luckily they use microwavable take out containers which made it easy for me to reheat it the next day in my hotel room. Bottom line: friendly and attentive service, unremarkable victuals.

Zheng has a wide variety of Asian foods, specializing in Chinese and Thai. The Mongolian Beef is addictive--lots of flavor, tender meat, served over crunchy rice noodles. The General's Chicken is a close second--making me feel less guilty about fried food when it's served on a mountain of broccoli. My mom loves Pad Thai Zheng Style, extra spicy, extra sauce. Spring rolls or Atomic Shrimp make a nice light appetizer, but leave the lettuce wraps to PF Chang's--Zheng's version lacks flavor and texture. The Mandarin Blossom martini is a tropical delight, while the tantalizing-sounding Kimono tastes like medicine. The West Glenwood location is a little touch and go on the service side, but the staff (especially bartenders) make a good effort. The El Jebel location tends to be tidier with a more grown-up crowd.

Been there twice and the poor service ruins the experience. Forgot two items - one our Childs dinner. Waitress never came back when she went to check on it. The sushi we got was was messed up. Ordered sake twice they brought to the table as we were getting up to leave 1.25 hours after we ordered it.

Having just moved from Atlanta to the Colorado Rockies, I had some doubts in finding a good Asian restaurant. Boy was I wrong! My daughter and I both went after having a lovely time getting a mani/pedi just down the street. That day they had Tofu Sesame as their special and it was just wonderful. We also had the spring rolls and spicy green beans. The food was very good and our server pleasant and friendly. We have gone back 2 times now and have tried the sushi (some great unusual rolls) and it was quite good. We will continue to go back and I am looking forward to trying some of their other dishes!

Had great service. The Asian food is pretty good for Colorado. I will say that the dish I ordered had scallops that were pankoed or something and got soggy in the sauce. The sauce was great but lose the breading, why ruin a scallop? Anyway the rest of the food was good and portions are very large. So if you have a party of 4 order 3 things and you will all be very full. Something for everyone here but they keep it simple enough to pull off. The dinner crowd was very diverse, from seniors to family's, and a couple guys in tiaras for a birthday party, so the noise level is what I would call lively when its busy.

First off, I think Zheng has moved from the place depicted on the map. They are near Target across the river. Zheng is a great bistro. It can go head to head and cocktail to cocktail with any Asian fusion bistro in San Francisco. Loads of flavor, presentation, and cool staff makes this a must visit when in downtown Glenwood Springs. based on reviews here, I was not surprised. meh. located in the newer outdoor mall, the decor was great. it's a small place and it was packed with a steady stream of guests. our hostess seated us quickly. drinks and cold edamame appeared a few minutes later, which we finished while waiting for our server. and we waited. and we waited. we rattled off our order and our server disappeared again. our first dish - mini rolls. believe it - it was pretty mini. mint and iceberg lettuce for garnish, the rolls were pretty tasty with the fish sauce concoction. you'll need about 50 of these if you come with a large group. the main courses came out a while later. we ordered orange beef, chow fun, and duck. the presentation was good. orange beef cooked with sun-dried tomatoes rested on top of sliced orange. the beef, tender. taste, meh. not a lot of chow fun. expected to see a heaping mound of noodles, but it looked pretty saggy and inadequate. tasted fine, cooked with basil and veggies. we saved the fish sauce concoction to pour on the chow fun, as it was dry. finally, the duck. at $15 for this dish, I expected at least half a duck. i guess you pay for the bistro atmosphere, because this was the smallest duck i've seen on a plate. at other chinese diners, we would get at least half a meaty duck for the price. this one was fairly crispy and extremely miniature. it tasted good with the hoisin sauce. did i just get a duck leg? was it a leg and thigh? not sure. i think there was more cucumber and scallion than actual meat on the plate so I was thrown off by that. trickery! service - it was there. overall, not a bad place to eat if you're taking your time and have nothing planned immediately after lunch. you'll probably have an okay lunch.

I went here while on vacation to Aspen and dropped by for a trip to the springs. A beautifully modern interior inside with friendly staff and good food. The only thing bad is that they didn't have sticky rice n mangos but the owner said they'd add it on their menu.

I spent this past weekend in Glenwood Springs visiting a friend. Before my visit, she talked up Zheng frequently and I was excited to try it. We went for Friday happy hour, which was fantastic. I love that you get edamame with your water and the apps (Crab Rangoon for me) were fantastic. Drinks were cheap and a wide selection was available. Sitting at the bar, we chatted with drinks for 5 hours--impressive! We headed back the next night for drinks later on in the evening and it was just as good. The staff is friendly, the food is awesome, and the atmosphere is fun and relaxed. I can't wait to go back!

I recently ate here with my Mom on a cross country trip. Being a vegetarian, I usually do not have a problem finding something to eat at an Asian restaurant. And I was not disappointed here. Mom ordered the Asian chicken salad and I got the tofu vegetable stir fry. Although her salad looked a little on small side- it was the perfect size for her, and it looked really tasty. My dish was delish. Plenty of veggies and tofu. I only wish I could find a place like that closer to home!

The good its good but I was there 5 min ago whit my mom and my grandma we sat outside and this fricking server come to us with the worst attitude a server could have. In the rudest way, he told us I had to walk inside ad let the know we ws there . Maybe you should either put a sign outside saying, please co.e in, or have an employee check outside for customers. Sushi is fair, though I'm scared to try anything daring considering how far this place is from the sea. None of their soups impress me. Yet to have an entree that I enjoyed. Noodles too greasy. I like the free edamame? Disappointed because the ahi tuna tacos with radish root "tortillas" they served at the food and wine festival were maybe the best dish I've had in Glenwood. They were fresh and sharp, with good flavours, lots of veg, and no grease. I still hold out hope that they will up their game and make all their food that good.

We came here a few years ago for our first anniversary and remember the experience so much better than what we just had today. The service was on point but today it was just average. the food before was so memorable but today again just average.

Honestly this was the spot when my hubby and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary. The food was on point as well as the service. Wellllll, Today went went to celebrate our 5 year anniversary and the service we got was very poor. The women who greeted us looked us up and down a few times (because we were wearing our workout clothes and had a few dust on our shoes from hiking). She handed us a menu and told to go sit ourselves. Uhh isn't that your job??? We sat ourselves outside and we saw her talking to other customers and acted like we didn't exist. She even gave this dog some water. Once the sushi came out, which was not even good, we ended up sharing it with a few bees and wasps. After a poor service like that, we didn't get even care to mention it was our anniversary. We wanted to get Out of there before we became dessert to wasps and bees. Let's just say, we should have never returned and kept the the good memory we had. Word of advise, treat your customers well. We are paying customers, not eating for free.

We ordered teriyaki beef, beef chow fun, no name roll, spider roll, and shrimp tempura. The teriyaki beef had no teriyaki flavor at all. It tastes ok, but I was disappointed because I LOVE teriyaki. The beef chow fun tasted very Thai which is misleading because of the Chinese name. It was edible though. The sushi was small and lacked vegetables. (Cucumber, avocado, etc). I was disappointed all around. I was so excited to try this place and my husband kept saying to me the entire time "I told you we should have gone to Taipei Tokyo!" I hate it when he's right lol. The service was friendly but very slow.

I'd have to say Zheng's is more Thai than Chinese or Vietnamese or Japanese or Korean. All of their Wok dishes are overly sweet! The place reminds me of PF Chang's. Definitely an American looking restaurant than Asian. The rundown follows: Edamame - free on the house and brought to the table almost as soon as you sit down, nice! Chicken Satay with Peanut Sauce - not bad, not great No Name role and Blackened Ahi - both worth getting! Brandy Infused Hoisin Pork, with veggies - way too sweet Curry Tofu - too too sweet Egg Foo Yung with shrimp and gravy - every bit as good as I expected and not sweet like the other dishes But I liked that all the entrees come with lots of veggies and they offer you brown or white rice without extra charge. Our waiter was funny, we liked him a lot, and we didn't think he intended to be. When asking for hot water, he didn't hear it clearly and turned back to ask "hot oil"? That was our joke of the night, we laughed so hard I hope we didn't hurt his feeling. But it wasn't sarcastic, just the way he said it was funny. It was still a great night out!

I'm a fan! Glenwood has some decent Asian food! (I would not have thought...) The Mongolian beef and pad thai both shared some similar qualities. They exhibit a "drier" style of cooking; no sauce pooling in the bottom of the dish. It's light but has excellent flavor. Minus a star for the Jasmine rice. It was too dry, and the moisture content wasn't there. My suspicion is it had been sitting warming for too long. Will come back on my next trip through and see if they can't get that elusive fifth star

Overpriced menu items. Would not mind paying more for something either 1) exotic/ spectacular/ different or 2) bigger portions. Was disappointed as the food was only average, over salty, non authentic Chinese food. I am basing this on their vegan tofu cashew dish. The sauce should be thicker, a little sweeter. The sauce was really over salty and high in sodium. Also, the brown rice was too dry and I feel that if they want to charge more for dinner menu, they should give you way bigger portions and complimentary edamame.

What a great place! It's quiet and comfortable. The service was great. Always checking on us and making sure we were doing good. The edamame was a favorite for my kids. They devoured it. The pad Thai was perfect. We also tried a California roll and some hot and sour soup. Not bad on the roll but the soup was amazing. I would come back in a heartbeat.

My family was staying at nearby hotel for Mother's Day. After a long drive, we did not want to venture into downtown, so we decided to try something in the strip mall area near the hotel. This spot seemed more inviting than the pizza and wings joint across the street, and Asian food sounded good. Having absolutely no expectations, man were we blown away. The hostess was welcoming and friendly. A server led us a to a comfortable booth and offered my children kids menus. The decor is clean and fresh, and the extensive menu offers something for everyone. Our service was outstanding! Our waiter seemed to anticipate our every move. He brought the kids drinks promptly and even brought their food ahead of time. The cocktails were amazing. We ordered the ahi app. It was as delicious and fresh as if we were at a restaurant by the sea. For our entrée, we shared the Siracha Beef. The veggies were farm fresh. So what started as a casual strip mall jaunt, turned out to be a five star fine dining experience. We were so pleasantly surprised by the food, ambience, and service, that we kept ordering more and more food and beverage, until we walked out of there totally stuffed, in a good way. Now, this place will be our destination spot for our Glenwood stays. Great job!

Having read other reviews we expected exceptional food but I feel the menu lacked creativity and was not very different from that of any Chineese/Thai /Sushi restaurant.. the restaruant was crowded and sparsely staffed making for a long wait for service..awe ordered Thom Gai soup.......lacked flavor and very watery. Our sushi roll literally fell apart. Mu chichen and vegetable stirfry lacked any real flavor too. My son's Jungle Curry came minus potatoes which the waiter acknowledged were supposed to be in it (the table next to ours sent theirs back for that reason.) Also it wascrated a 5 on the heat scale and was barely spicy. We were very disappointed in this restaurant.

My large family ate here last night and we really enjoyed the food. It didn't wow me, but I certainly couldn't complain. I was impressed that they offered a vegan menu and even a child's menu. Our waiter was capable, but he had an attitude. He was not not emotionally invested in our's or anyone else's table...it was actually quite comical.

The most memorable things about this place: just about every single order was messed up! We had about 6 of us ordering either straight from the menu or the make your own stirfry...simple enought right? Wrong! We all asked for the same noodles...people got different kinds.. The waitress explained to us that that's what we ordered.. We didn't, but okay we aren't that fussy of customers. Then we all got our checks... Not only were the split checks wrong but the prices of dishes were wrong too and somehow added dollar amounts at the bottom... We told the waitress, she tried to semi argue with us but we proved her wrong.. She took it to the manager... The two tried figuring out this whole price thing I think for like 10 minutes.... Then we realized that the prices were significantly lower than the first time.. Waitress confirmed that the tip is included in the bill and we just pay the totals.. Okay but we know there was major underpaying going on (not our faults) Soooo onto the food. Our dishes were like this: either too much sauce, not enough sauce, too much noodle, not enough noodle, too much of one thing, not enough of one thing... Inconsistency was all over... Yes the food was edible and fairly tasty... On my plate... If the service was better and the dishes were cooked properly I may have given a better rating because the food was not that bad...When I'm back in Colorado...I'm not going to seek out this place...

Good bar and friendly staff. I like the ambience. I didn't actually try the food but they have a great happy hour deal and the bar snacks are edamame (cold).

My Friend and I recently had a late night dinner here after hearing it was pretty good from locals. We came in after 9 and our waiter seemed to be upset we had sat in his section. Our waiter Saber was very short with his answers and an attitude with what seemed to be our overall dinner. After little answers about the food, we ordered the Thai Cashew Chicken and Mongolian Beef. The Chicken tasted like a microwave dinner and the rice hadn't been completely cooked. The beef however was extremely good. My recommendation come early and order the beef. Overall it was a regular nothing special Asian Bistro.

What an amazing find! They have a separate vegan menu, two pages filled with incredible choices. We had the blackened tofu appetizer which was perfect, a great take on blackened ahi. Then we had the pineapple fried rice and the cashew tofu for dinner. Oh my. All of the vegetables were so fresh and the flavor in both dishes blew our minds. We definitely will be back and highly recommend a meal or two here. Also, the service was great. Our server was friendly and welcoming. So was the guy who seated us.

Ask for the vegan menu. It's kind if the only place in glenwood springs to get a large warm vegan meal anyway. Just be forwarned, that while it's exciting that they have a vegan menu, it's still kinda meh-whatever frozen-microwaved veggies and tofu in sauce. It'll be great if you're reeeally hungry, but it's not an authentic hole in the wall blow-yer-mind-spot. It's in an outdoor mall. Just sayin.

Really good sushi and they use crab with a 'c' in their rolls. Great specialty rolls, salads, egg rolls, etc. Haven't had a bad meal here yet. It's one of our stops when we visit Glenwood Springs.

BEST CHINESE/ASIAN FOOD IN GLENWOOD! I am so addicted to this place! They make the best General's chicken I've ever had! Their menu states if there was an award for this dish, they would win. I totally agree! Happy Hour is a good deal too. I love their "Dragon Wings"...they are spicy!! They come with amazing peppers cut up into cubes..DELISH! Take my word on this one.

Thank you sweet Jesus for blessing the Western Slope with Zheng! I moved here over a year ago, and the food choices out here leave much to be desired. Thankfully we have found a few favorites! Zheng at the top of that list. They have a great bar with my favorite cocktails and the Pad Thai is perfect. Their menu is great with a vast assortment of Thai Inspired food to choose from with their own "Zheng" flair to it. I love love love this place! thankfully, its close to my work, and I can go as much as my checkbook will allow.

Terrible experience...so bad my family and I walked out without eating. We were sat quickly, we ordered quickly and one hour later we hadn't been served our dinner. We asked the waitress, we asked the manager, both of whom did not seem concerned...almost like this was a common occurrence. Needless to say we left unhappy, hungry as we never received our dinner, and most disappointing is that when we left we let the manager know we were leaving and again there was little concern. This business seems not to care and we will never return.

Super hard to find using gps. It leads you on the opposite side of the highway into a burger place. Tried the wontons, eel and avocado roll, dragon roll. The wontons were alittle on the spicy side defiantly different than the normal. The eel roll was ok. Not busting out with flavor 6pcs. of a smaller bite size. The dragon roll is 8 pcs. Smaller bite size. Over all the staff was nice and the place is quiet. I think if I came here again I would not order sushi, but try one of there other dishes.

Yelp site said they took reservations. They don't - at least last night. Waited 20 minutes for a table. Waited another 10 before the server showed up and dropped off water and cold edamame and took our drink order. Drinks arrived 10 minutes later and we placed our food order. Food arrived 25 minutes later - luke warm. Chicken Fried Rice, Spicy Shrimp Fried Rice and Mongolian Beef were ok (2.5 stars). Sweet and Sour Chicken was inedible. Soggy batter coated dry chicken was swimming in a sea of sickeningly sweet, nuclear red dye #2 duck sauce. One bite was all that was needed to push it aside. Four of us tried it and all disliked it. After delivering our food we never saw our server, Chelsea, again. She seemed to have a major attitude problem. Had to hunt her down to pay the check. We will not go back again, largely due to the poor service.

We walked in about 30 minutes before closing time and the lady who showed us our seats made sure to let us know that "the kitchen closes soon" and that she "hopes they'll fix something for you". What a way to (NOT) make us feel welcome! Our waiter was super nice and friendly though, and he made fun of the other Lady's remark. Other than that: overprized Chinese Food pretty much sums it up.

Bankok Beef and Geno Coco shrimp were ordered and re ordered the week we were in Glenwood Springs. What a fabulous Asian place. I've traveled throughout Asia and lived in Los Angeles. I have to say, some of my best meals came from Zheng. I love the PYP "pick your protein" and the clean ingredients. Nothing was delivered cold or soggy and the noodles, edamame, and rice were fabulous for the kids. Yumm! We had the food delivered a few times, and everytime it was very hot and flavorful. One night, they forgot to include our chopstix and my husband mentioned it the next time we ordered and the guy brought extra and delivery person apologized. Really? Wow. Incredible service.
